Mindfulness Meditation Retreat 28 June – Peacehaven, Welshpool £25
This is a one day mindfulness meditation retreat for those that want to get away from it all and relax amidst 6 acres of beautiful Montgomeryshire hills. Learn about living in the moment using all the senses. All courses at Peacehaven are subsidised therefore it costs £25 for the day and £10 for those who are on restricted incomes.
We all go through life not really noticing what we are doing, how we are breathing, what we are
eating and oblivious to our immediate surroundings. In this short course, we will explore mindfulness,
what it means, how we can achieve it and how it will help us in our daily lives. Sometimes
we have to stop and appreciate what is happening now, this minute.
What does it mean to be mindful? Essentially, mindfulness means to be present, and in the moment.
It is important that we remind ourselves of this simple fact. All too often we can lose the
true essence of mindfulness by over-complicating things or putting all our emphasis on the act of
meditation alone. Mindfulness is not something we leave at the chair, but something we can
carry through our everyday lives. If we can apply mindfulness on the chair, then why not while
brushing our teeth, catching up with an old friend, or even waiting for our morning train? All
these moments present an opportunity for us to apply mindfulness, and live our lives more fully,
in the present moment.
This one day meditation retreat will cover various meditations throughout the day:
- 10 a.m. What is Mindfulness
- 10.20 a.m. Grounding and preparing for the day ahead with a Standing Meditation

While very few of us would deny the restorative effects of a holiday in the sun (or, for that matter, the rain), Peacehaven’s wish for more lasting travel gains may resonate for many of you. After all, hiking in the mountains or luxuriating at a spa may be good for the soul—but only until we’re plunged back into the grind of our workaday lives. How wonderful would it be to bring the same peacefulness we find on holiday back home with us?
On this retreat you can learn simple techniques to use daily or apply when you feel the strain of living a stressful life.
Please bring the following items:
- Indoor shoes
- Outdoor shoes (field to the sanctuary may be muddy so stout walking shoes are necessary or wellies)
- Cushions/yoga mat and blanket
- Packed lunch
All refreshments will be provided. To book contact June Meagher via june@aamarhealing.co.uk or call 07446 298661
