Popcorn

Popcorn fully alertPopcorn  14th April, 1996

I was also with Popcorn the minute he was born, he is a real character, an explorer, he would dive bomb me from wherever he could, claws out, he would land on me from all sorts of places.  I was eating some popcorn one night and a bit fell on the floor, he pounced on it, ate it and then jumped on the packet and ate some more, that is why he has the name of Popcorn.  At five months old he decided to explore the great outdoors and ended up being hit by a car about 2 miles away from where we lived.  Luckily someone saw him on the road and took him to the vets before any other car hit him.  I had been looking for him for two days and on the Monday, I again went to the vets and they told me they had him, so I took him home.  He was limping quite a bit so I sat with him for months and done healing on his back legs, now you would never know he had that accident. I call him 'my boy'.

Popcorn on sentry dutyHe sits next to me when he gets the chance, he loves his food and is always looking to see what I have brought him it.  He is a gentle cat, did not hunt when he was younger, he loves to chase flies and falling leaves.  He loves cuddles and is very friendly and adores the ladies, when any female friends come in he runs to them and demands attention.  When I sit out at night looking at the stars, Popcorn will sit with me, he looks up as I do and I point out the various constellations, he makes this lovely little sound as if he is agreeing with me and is a talker.  When people phone up he will come up and talk through the phone, amazing the caller. He also sleeps behind my head and has his own pillow.  He has great tolerance and patience and loves being spoilt and cuddled.
